Procedures of Creating NetAcad Courses

1. Login to Cisco Networking Academy Portal

a. Open web browser

b. Go to URL : www.netacad.com

c. Click “Log in”

d. Enter netacad “Email address or screen name”[1]

e. Enter “Password” and then click the “Log In” button

2. Create a course

a. Click “I’m Teaching” at the landing page after login

b. Click the “Create Course” button

c. Make sure you are selected “CIC Academy - CA”

d. Select the course you want to teach, need to be at least one of the following :

· Introduction to the Internet of Everything

· Introduction to IoT

e. Click “Continue”

f. Select “Language” version of your selected course

g. Enter the following information

· Course ID

· Course Name

· Start Date

· End Date

· Description (Optional)

· Instructor

Ø You should be the default instructor of the course

Ø If you have some other instructor want to add to the course so as to co-manage, you can select and add his / her to the course

h. Click “Continue”

i. Review the information and check, if no problem, select “Publish Now”

j. The site will bring you to the “Add Students” page

· Click the “Add Students” button

· Click either “Add Student” (add student one-by-one) or “Import CSV” (add student by batch)

[1] Every instructor needs to have an instructor role in Cisco Networking Academy

· If instructor has a current instructor account under a NetAcad (Networking Academy), please use that account

· If instructor is new to the NetAcad program, after signing up the CIC competition, please contact Ms. Angela Mui (ask@hkace.org.hk) of the Hong Kong Association for Computer Educaton (HKACE) for creating an instructor for you under CIC Academy
